A bold, oversized community safety map spread across a large wooden table in a bright urban meeting room, covered with color-coded pins, sticky notes, and printed icons representing safe routes, parks, and schools. Around the edges of the frame, open laptops, reusable water bottles, and stacks of workshop materials hint at active planning. Late afternoon sunlight streams through tall windows, casting crisp, angular shadows and highlighting the saturated colors of the map. Photographic realism, shot from a slightly elevated angle with sharp focus throughout, creates a dynamic, energetic mood. The composition uses the rule of thirds, drawing the eye from the lower corner of the table toward the glowing windows, suggesting forward movement and bold community action.
An outdoor community safety workshop setup in a city park, centered on a sturdy folding table covered in brightly colored flyers, reflective armbands, safety checklists, and hand-painted cardboard symbols representing clean air, safe streets, and mental well-being. Surrounding benches hold neatly arranged clipboards and marker sets. Late morning sunlight filters through leafy trees, creating dappled patterns on the grass and table surface. Photographic realism at eye level, with a moderate depth of field that keeps the materials crisp while softening the background of playground equipment and apartment buildings. The mood is vibrant and purposeful, with bold color contrasts and a slightly wide-angle composition that emphasizes openness, accessibility, and grassroots community organizing.

Our story

Interviews and Stories

Stemming from an emotional absent father figure and hanging out with the wrong crowd as a rebellious teen, Mark spent roughly 7 years in The California Youth Authority, later receiving the words “you don’t need to accept this you’re greater.”

Mark Rebollo, September 12th, 2026

Like every other neighborhood, Pomona, California, desires to take pride in every area of their community. An environment affects lifestyle, either positive or negative. It starts with us, our small acts equal a clean future.

A bright, graffiti-style mural in a refurbished underpass, depicting an abstract cityscape where trees, homes, and intersecting paths form a shield-like pattern symbolizing protection and justice. Vivid colors—electric blues, neon greens, and punchy oranges—cover the smooth concrete wall, with bold, dynamic strokes and layered shapes suggesting movement and collective strength. The ground is clean, with freshly painted safety symbols on the pavement guiding passersby. Captured in photographic realism from a slightly low angle, the scene uses soft, diffused daylight bouncing in from both ends of the underpass, minimizing harsh shadows. The composition emphasizes the mural’s sweeping lines and towering presence, creating an atmosphere of empowered, youth-driven change and a safer, more vibrant public space.

Youth for Justice helped me turn frustration into real campaigns that made our school and streets feel safer.

An energetic indoor outreach station set up in a school gym, centered on a long table lined with sturdy cardboard display boards covered in brightly colored, text-free icons for conflict resolution, mental health support, clean air, and safe transport. Transparent bowls hold eco-friendly wristbands and stickers with the same symbols. In the background, a basketball hoop and folded bleachers signal the familiar youth space. Overhead gym lights produce strong, even illumination, with slight reflections on the polished wood floor. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a medium depth of field, keeps the outreach table dominant while gently softening background details. The mood is bold, inviting, and action-oriented, suggesting an accessible hub where young people shape safer, healthier communities.
